Flea Market Friday, June 19th - 21st
It’s time for our 2nd Annual Flea Market! We learned our lesson last year and this year our sale will be held in AIR CONDITIONING!! Our sale will be held at The Studio in Pharaoh Plaza located at 4701 Ayers, Ste 601. Shop for appliances, home décor, arts and crafts, bed and bath, electronics, furniture, jewelry, kitchen, lawn and garden, luggage, books, toys and games, baby items, personal accessories, pet articles, office supplies, music, movies, collectibles, antiques, sporting goods, lots of Christmas items, and tools! Many items are brand new or gently used!
We will also be taking in donations Monday June 15th - Thursday June 18th from 3pm - 6pm.

Virtu-Adoption Campaign!
Times are tough these days, especially for non-profits. The cats and kittens of The Cattery need your help! While we find wonderful homes for most of our kitties, some of them due to temperament, health or age, are unlikely to be adopted. For these kitties we provide a permanent place for them to live out their lives in safety and comfort.
These cats offer you an opportunity to help with The Cattery continue our shelter and the good work that we do for our community. Perhaps you already have so many cats that you can’t adopt one more and add her to the mix. Or perhaps you love cats but your landlord doesn’t. Or perhaps your spouse loves cats but you’re allergic. How can you participate in creating a nurturing environment for every cat and kitten we take in?
You can Virtually Adopt a cat or kitten from our group we’ve designated as “maybe here forever.” And here’s the really good news: only 300 virtual adoptions @ $15 a month would completely cover the overhead to operate The Cattery. Only 300! And covering our overhead each month would free up our fundraisers for important expenses like vet bills and special projects.
Virtual Adoption is easy. You can sign up here via PayPal or you can drop by Petsmart and fill out the paper work to either mail a check each month or have us draft your credit card automatically. Although $4500 per month is a lot of money, spread out over 300 people (or more!), it’s less than $200 per year per virtual adopter (50 cents a day).

Monthly Fine Wine and Felines May 5th, 5:30-7:30pm
On Tuesday, May 5, 2009, The Cattery Cat Shelter will be hosting a wine and cheese tasting from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the home of Marie Colson located at 3901 Ocean Drive.
Come relax after work, sip some wine and eat some tasty treats while admiring the gorgeous bay views, all while raising funds the cats and kittens of The Cattery! A $20 per person donation is requested. All proceeds will benefit the cats and kittens of The Cattery.

New Petsmart Adoption Days
Thursday and Friday have become available for us at Petsmart, so our adoption days will now be from Wednesday - Sunday, 11am-4pm starting on 4/22.
A New Addition to Our Virtu-Adoption List
For those of you that aren’t familiar, our Virtu-Adoption list has several kitties listed that you can “virtually” adopt. Each month you send us a donation of $15 or more via mail, paypal or automatic credit card draft and you get a letter from your virtually adopted cat, letting you know what’s going on at the shelter and how he/she is doing. The kitties we choose for this list are less adoptable than most of our kitties due to temperment or medical needs. Because we are a no-kill shelter, we never euthanize one kitty to make room for another - no matter how long that kitty has been with us - and if the kitty makes it on this list, chances are they will have a very long stay with us. This program gives the shelter much needed monetary support for our long term residents and allows you to have a kitty when you otherwise might not have one - long work hours, allergies, other pets that aren’t cat friendly - whatever the reason!
Sunshine is the newest addition to our Virtu-Adoption list. She was hit by a car when she was just a little baby and taken to Oso Creek Animal Hospital. She spent several weeks recovering from her injuries there before she came to stay with us. Sunshine has been very shy since her accident, which causes her to hide when people come to our shelter. Unfortunately, she also has a low tolerance for human attention and will often bite after just a few seconds of someone touching her. Even though she’s a beautiful kitty, we fear her grumpiness will make her a long time resident of The Cattery. This is especially sad because she is so young.
