Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic

The Cattery started Corpus Christi’s first High Volume, High Quality, Low/Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic in January 2012. We provide low cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs under 30lbs. We also provide low cost vaccinations, microchips and other services at the time of surgery.
Starting our Clinic
Soon after starting our shelter, we became aware just how many strays end up at Animal Control each year and how many of them are euthanized. After researching this problem it became clear that one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle to solving pet overpopulation is affordable, accessible spay/neuter options. At the time, Corpus Christi did not have a high volume, low cost spay/neuter clinic.
Late last year we applied to be part of the ASPCA’s National Spay/Neuter Project and we were accepted! This program provided training for our Veterinarian and Technicians in high volume surgery techniques. Petsmart Charities provided all of the equipment and consumables to start our clinic. The Ed Rachal Foundation provided start up funds and grants to reduce costs for low income residents.
MASH
Our clinic is called a M.A.S.H. clinic which stands for Mobile Animal Surgical Hospital. We rely on local businesses to host our clinic 3 days per week, 48 weeks of the year. At each clinic we set up all of our equipment and at the end of the day we pack it all back up in our van.
High Volume
A high volume clinic performs at least 5000 spay/neuter surgeries per year, which for our clinic means 35 surgeries per day.
High Quality
Our clinic operates according to ASPCA and Humane Alliance spay/neuter clinic guidelines. All animals receive quality pain management and drug protocols. Our surgeons are experts at spay/neuter surgeries - they spend many hours each week doing only spay/neuter.

You can find our regular low cost prices HERE.
We are constantly searching for funding to lower these prices even further. Please check our website and/or FaceBook often for news of special events, sponsorships, or grants and how to qualify.
Appointments
To maka an appointment, please call 445-4FIX (4349) or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). To keep costs low, we make a majority of our appointments on Monday afternoons. We do not publish our locations or days in advance because our clinic may be at different locations each day. When we make your appointment you will pick which clinic best fits your location and schedule. For all clinics, pets will be dropped off in the morning and picked up late afternoon.
